WHAT IS MONTESSORI

Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activities, hands on learning & collaboration play. In the mix aged groups montessori classroom children make creative choices in their learning, while the classroom and the teachers offer age-appropriate activities to guide the process.

Children will work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to develop their maximum potential.

WHY GLOBAL WEST

Global West Montessori is an independent montessori center with curriculum based on the Montessori Method of education. Our schools provide an educational and respectful environment where children are accepted for who they are and are encouraged to reach their full potential. The Montessori activities promote the development of social skills, emotional growth, and physical coordination as well as cognitive preparation. The holistic curriculum, under the direction of specially trained teachers, allows the children to enjoy the experience of learning and time to enjoy the process.

Our goals & objectives are to provide a prepared environment that invites hands-on exploration, offers freedom of choice, and promotes acceptance of new challenges.

Within this environment, we work cooperatively with the child’s natural developmental promptings to facilitate growth in all areas of life. We strive to promote self-awareness, independence, self-discipline and self-esteem, along with a sense of community and of one’s place in the world.

GLOBAL WEST MONTESSORI FOUNDER

Global West Montessori founder Mainka Cheema got her start inspiring young children in the most natural way – by caring for her younger brother. This experience sparked the”learning & playing philosophy” that is the hallmark of her company.

Inspired by the possibilities, she completed a certificate in Early Childhood Education and a Montessori Teaching Diploma from North American Montessori. After years of teaching experience, she founded her own daycare, Global West Montessori.

Mainka’s goal is to help each child build a strong foundation, helping them thrive in their future, both academically and socially. In addition to the Montessori Curriculum, she offers weekly classes in Science, Cooking, Yoga, Music, French and Creative Arts.
